Episode 121: Foundations to Finish Line... Welcome to 2025

Hey, friends! It's Jen and AJ here, and welcome back to The Sojo Show! We are so excited to kick off this next chapter with all of you. It's been a while since we've been in your ears, but we're here, ready to dive into a new season and a brand-new year.

This episode is all about catching up and giving you a sneak peek of what’s ahead for 2025.

Spoiler alert: we’ve got BIG plans, and we’re thrilled to share them with you!

Here’s what we talked about in this episode:

  1. We’re Back!
After a little break, we’re returning with fresh energy and a renewed vision for The Sojo Show. We’re kicking off our first episode of 2025 on January 7th, so mark your calendars!

  1. A Year-Long Path for Spiritual Growth
We’re calling this year’s journey Foundations to Finish Line, and it’s designed to help us all grow deeper in our faith. Each quarter, we’ll explore a new focus:
  • Foundations (Q1: Jan - March): Strengthening our understanding of God, the Gospel, and our faith.
  • Transformation (Q2: April - June): How sanctification and spiritual growth prepare us for action.
  • Mission (Q3: July - September): Living out our faith boldly and leading others in Christ.
  • Perseverance (Q4: October - December): Finishing strong and focusing on worship, endurance, and legacy.

  1. Why We Do This
We’re reminded constantly that this podcast is a labor of love—purely a ministry from our hearts. While we may not gain financially, the joy and connection we experience with our community (that’s YOU!) make it all worth it.

  1. A Preview of January
We’re starting with the Character of God—looking at His holiness, sovereignty, mercy, and more. It’s a humbling and awe-inspiring way to begin the year, grounding ourselves in who He is before diving into what He’s called us to do.

  1. Real Talk
As always, we keep it honest: podcasting is no walk in the park. It’s time-intensive, sometimes costly, and definitely messy—but we love it. We also shared a bit about how much we value your encouragement. If you’re excited for this new season, let us know!

Key Takeaways:

  • Spiritual growth starts with going back to the basics—knowing God deeply and letting that knowledge transform our lives.
  • This year, we’re focusing on action: not just knowing the Word, but living it out daily.
  • We’re all called to grow, serve, and persevere in our faith, no matter where we are on our journey.
