Episode 107 - God doesn't condemn you: Explore the promises of Romans 8:1-2

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. - Romans 8:1-2

These verses mark an important shift in our spiritual reality, as we are free from the law of sin and death. The sacrifice of Christ has granted us freedom AND righteousness.

Despite our freedom, many of us still struggle with feelings of guilt and shame. The step of asking for forgiveness from a sin is critical.  This verse reminds us that as Christians, our debt has been paid through Christ. When we experience conviction for our sins, it is an opportunity for repentance and restoration, not condemnation.

At the core of Romans 8:1-2 is the truth of Christ's sacrifice. He bore our sins on the cross, exchanging our condemnation for His righteousness. This act extends to all aspects of our lives, past, present, and future, offering us eternal freedom from condemnation.

As believers, we are called to walk in the reality of Romans 8:1-2, embracing the freedom it offers. While we may still struggle with sin, we can rest in the assurance that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.

God doesn't condemn us. And you shouldn't either. But remember, the promise of no condemnation is only for those in Christ Jesus

Romans 8 is one of the greatest chapters and it's chock full of promises. We hope you find encouragement and insight as we explore these promises together. Be sure to join us next time as we continue to walk through the promises of the Cross.

FOR FURTHER STUDY

Another standout chapter about the faithfulness of God and the promises and the goodness of God is Hebrews 11.

And we're studying it inside Sojo Academy this month. Hebrews 11 demonstrates our response to God's promises. We have to know and understand them, and then we have to believe them.

We have to step out in faith and take action and act as if those promises are actually true because THEY ARE! And what does our lives look like when we live as if these promises of God (such as ‘there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus), what does our lives look like when we act and live as if that is true?

And that's what we're going to be diving into this month (March 2024) inside Sojo Academy. Join us for Hebrews 11’s Study HERE.
